iPhone 18 Pro in Ireland prices and preorder dates

The iPhone 18 Pro range has been announced and is available to preorder in Ireland. The main decision is whether the new camera and performance features solve a problem you actually have. You do not need to upgrade simply because a new iPhone has arrived.

Apple unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max on 9 September. Both use its A20 Pro chip and introduce a variable-aperture main camera.

When can you buy one in Ireland?

Irish preorders opened at 1pm on Saturday 12 September 2026. Availability begins on Friday 18 September. A launch date is not a promise that every storage and colour combination will reach you that day: check the delivery estimate attached to your order.

How much do the new Pro iPhones cost?

ModelStarting storageIrish starting price
iPhone 18 Pro256GB€1,489
iPhone 18 Pro Max256GB€1,639

These are Apple’s announced Irish starting prices. The larger model costs €150 more at the same starting capacity. Both models offer 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB configurations, although individual retailers may carry a smaller selection.

Before choosing more storage, check how much you use on your current phone. A large photo library or regular video recording can justify extra room. Buying the largest capacity by default can leave you paying for space you never use. Keep the storage decision separate from the screen-size decision.

What does the new camera feature mean?

The 48MP main camera has a variable aperture: an adjustable opening that changes how much light reaches the sensor and affects how much of a scene can appear in focus. Apple is also adding manual controls for people who want more control over the result. Apple’s camera explanation

For most buyers, the real test is whether the camera delivers more usable shots: sharper indoor photos of moving children, stronger evening portraits, or more dependable video. Specs alone cannot prove that.

What about performance and battery life?

Apple pairs the A20 Pro with vapour-chamber cooling and claims improvements to performance and battery life. Its smaller Dynamic Island also changes the screen area occupied by the camera and sensor interface. Apple’s feature overview

Those changes matter most if your current phone slows down during the work you do. If messaging, maps, banking and your camera already work well, a new processor is unlikely to be a sufficient reason to spend four figures. Manufacturer battery figures also need real-world testing before they become buying advice.

Should you preorder or wait?

Best for: Someone replacing a failing phone who already knows they want a premium iPhone and has checked the complete price.

Consider waiting if: Your current phone works well, you want independent camera and battery evidence, or you have not tried the two sizes in your hand.

A preorder can make sense when you have a specific need and a confirmed delivery window. Otherwise, waiting until you can handle the phone gives you information that a launch video cannot: whether the size, weight and controls suit you.
